Bright Day Montessori Academy opened its doors for operation in July 2018. Over the past year we have proven to the Compton community that our program strives each year to achieve our standards and goals and objectives for our children.

We have received strong support from families over the years and each year the Parent Advisory Committee dedicates itself to volunteering as classroom helpers and assistants, raising funds for school equipment and field trips and helping staff prepare and manage school events.

The Staff

We are proud of our highly educated and experienced group of teachers and staff. Our director is Elizabeth Gallion. She possesses a M.A. degree in Education and has several teaching credentials for elementary school programs. She has not only taught in grade school programs, but she has a wealth of experience in child development programs.

Our lead teachers possess a B.A. degree in either Early Childhood Education or Child Development or other education-related field, and they possess a minimum Teacher’s Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Furthermore, they are trained internally each year as a component of our on-going staff development program.

Meet the Site Director – Vallrie Brown

I began pursuing my career in early education by volunteering at my than young children’s, preschool, I was unanimously voted, and accept the position as a Policy Council Representative president, and from there a teacher’s assistant at the preschool. After obtaining my first 24 units in early childhood education, I was offered a position as a preschool Teacher at which time I obtain my teaching credential.  As I gained additional experience as a teacher, I soon took the position as a lead teacher, I decided to continue my education in the management field, at which time I acquired my Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Business Management.   As a result, I found a new growth in my passion, which was to train, guide and mentor educators who share my passion with children and families.
